In preparation for her latest role on the big screen, Reese Witherspoon has gone from blonde to blonder.

The 34-year-old (who we recently dubbed as "Hollywood's Chicest Mom") is best known for her buttery blonde hue, but she recently debuted a much lighter -- nearly platinum -- shade.

In "Water for Elephants," Witherspoon plays the character of a 1930s circus performer and horse lover, which apparently calls for lighter locks. The actress and mother of two co-stars with 24-year-old Robert Pattinson who also changed his 'do for this film with a much shorter cut.

We're just hoping that when the filming is wrapped up, Witherspoon will return to her darker blonde locks.

By the way, Witherspoon is not the only celebrity lightening up her locks this summer. Kristen Stewart and Eva Longoria Parker both went from brunette to auburn shades, while Natalie Portman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez and most recently Miley Cyrus, have been spotted with lighter "bronde" hues.
