The latest hero? Neutrogena.
The popular drugstore skincare brand just launched Wave for a Change, a charitable campaign that will donate $1 for every Wave Sonic Power-Cleaner and Oil-Free Pink Graptefruit Acne Wash product sold between July 17th and August 23rd to GlobalGiving.com.
Global Giving is a non-profit that connects donors with a wide array of international community projects that are in need of funding. While browsing the eye-opening site, we saw projects to fund bicycles so poor Cambodian girls could get an education by riding to school, as well as a fund to rescue enslaved Nepali girls and teach them self-sustaining tradework.
Topics range the gamut from women's issues to environmentalism to inspiring social projects that need love right here in the United States.
The campaign will be marketed to the teenage set, with an interactive Facebook quiz page that allows young fans to voice their opinion on where raised funds should be donated. Real-time results will be available on the page too, as will the personal picks of celeb faces Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Gabrielle Union, Miranda Cosgrove, Susie Castillo and Vanessa Hudgens.
"Often people want to participate, but they don't know how, so the fact Neutrogena is opening the door and kids are getting to be a part of something and help the world is an amazing thing to be a part of," said Hayden Panettiere, a Neutrogena brand ambassador.
And even without the charity tie-in, we dig the featured products.

The Wave Sonic Power Cleanser brings the technology of the more expensive Clarisonic to the drugstore, with adjustable daily and deep pore cleansing options and a back-to-school friendly price of $15.99. The cleanser comes with a two weeks supply of pre-saturated foaming pads that are to be used with the machine for clearest complexion results.
The Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit line contains a face and body cleanser as well as a foaming scrub that are all medicated with two percent salicylic acid to treat and prevent breakouts. We love the fresh burst of grapefruit color -- and that fun pink color and scented foam is no mistake. Studies have shown that people will more consistently treat and prevent their breakouts if applying the product is a positive sensory experience.
Neutrogena has promised a full final donation of up to $200,000 for the project.
We urge you to go ahead and cleanse -- and help heal the world.
