It's a marriage of two great American brands, but what took them so long?

Brooks Brothers and Levi's have partnered to create a new collection of jeans for men called Levi's Jeans, Made in the USA for Brooks Brothers.

The jeans will be available in a number of finishes and washes, from the traditional 501 silhouette and zip-fly version of the 501 to the 505, and the 514 Slim Straight jean. All of the jeans will be made in the USA -- Los Angeles, specifically -- and will retail for $148 a pair.

"For generations, nothing has conveyed the image of iconic American style more than a pair of Levi's jeans worn with a Brooks Brothers button-down shirt," Lou Amendola, Brooks Brothers chief merchandising officer, said in a statement.

"With our exclusive jeans collection, we have created something that is both authentic and timeless."

StyleList bets jean shorts came off the drawing board as soon as they realized the nine-word label wouldn't fit.

Levi's Jeans, Made in the USA for Brooks Brothers jeans go on sale today at Brooks Brothers.
