Angelina Jolie will have no more of you criticizing the way her daughter dresses, thank you very much.

In a new interview with UK magazine Stylist (no relation to StyleList), the "Salt" star insists that little Shiloh Jolie-Pitt calls the shots when it comes to her tomboy attire, and that's just fine with Jolie.

"It's not my choice," Jolie, 35, says of Shiloh's wardrobe, which includes polo shirts, cargo pants, hoodies, and boys' swim trunks.

"I have a very strong-willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is."

That includes letting her lop off her locks into a super-short style. "Shiloh cried and said, 'Please cut my hair off, I don't want to have long hair,'" explains the actress, whose Stylist interview is accompanied by a Patrick Demarchelier shot of Jolie reclining seductively in a shiny metallic minidress.

"I'm not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should."

Jolie
, who is also the mother of Maddox, 9, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, and 2-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, extends the same freedom to all her children. "My other daughter Zahara dresses very much like a girl, very pink and flowery, very feminine," she notes.

As for Shiloh, don't expect her to trade in her vests and neckties for frilly frocks anytime soon. Says Jolie, "I want to do what's in her heart and what's in her heart is to dress like that. I think it's beautiful."

Jane, I agree with you on one point: Shiloh IS a lesbian, but I'll take it one step further and predict that she's actually a transsexual waiting to happen. I read plenty that Chaz Bono knew as a very young child that "she" was a guy trapped in a female's body. I'd hock the farm that's what's going on with Shiloh.

Nothing wrong with that; it is what it is.

But I actually think Brad and Angie are a hot couple, and more importantly, they appear to love and respect each other and they're happy. Few other couples in the entertainment industry can say that.

You're the fool if you think someone can be "made" gay especially when we're speaking about a four year old. You and a couple of the other posters think a child should be made to wear clothes of their parent choosing; that says controlling and cruel. I remember the Sonny and Cher Show and their daughter always appeared in frilly dresses. Obviously that didn't sway things, did it? Let the child pick her own clothes.

Just because she doesn't dress like a "girl" doesn't mean that she's a lesbian. She's 4...she doesn't even know what sex is!.. I never liked dressing up in frilly girl things when I was a kid. I still prefer jeans and a t-shirt to dresses any day. And my parents never made much of a fuss about it. The only times they insisted I dress nice was on holidays or special occasions..and they still always brought a change of comfy clothes for me. I'm straight as an arrow. I'm married to a great man and I've never even thought of an other woman in a sexual way. How you dress does not make you gay. You people are idiots! Besides what century are you living in? This isn't the 1900's, get a grip!

If she truly is picking her own clothes. I hardly believe that Shilo was choosing her clothes as young as Shilo was when she first started wearing male clothing. I believe she was coaxed into this choice. My daughter is lesbian and she loved wearing frilly dresses when she was young. In fact, she still does. Clothes don't make a lesian. But forcing a child to wear male clothing, well who know what that will make.

How pitiful that some of you add your hateful posts simply because you do not like Angelina Joli...it has nothing to do with Shiloh. Jolie is a wonderful mother and I admire her tremendously for the good she and Brad perform. For heaven's sake...learn to get over the things she did in her youth, and stop blaming her for stealing Brad from Jennifer. YOu don't steal something that isn't yours, and apparently Brad was ready to move on. AND don't pick on their kids because you don't like them personally.

Oh my, Just because she is letting her be who she is doesn't mean she will like girls or guys in the future. Who knows, let the kid be a kid and enjoy being who she is. I loved my cowboy boots and my baseball shoes when I was a kid. Once I went to church with my cleaks (rubber) and a man turned and said peace to you my son to me, we all laughed. I was a tomboy for sure and guest what guys.... I love MEN, lol I'm still a tomboy but that doesn't mean I go to bed with girls, just means I'm not girly girl. Brad and Jolie let that child be who she is and be happy. I sure hope they stay away from comments like these said here.

IRMY B...besides the fact that you are unable to spell lesbian properly you are a complete fool...you actually believe that dressing like a tomboy or choosing short hair is going to make their daughter a lesbian? Get a damn life and an education while you're at it.

Shiloh has been wearing over the top boys' clothes and big boots for some time now. Children do not have a total say or pocketbook to decide on what they wear at 2 or 3. I have 3 girls who all had different tastes growing up (still do) but there were always dresses in the closet; and they loved them. Shiloh may just be trying to get attention in that " gaggle of geese " that she lives in!

Having a stepson that as a child was made to dress in his sisters shoes pants, etc. by his Mother makes me uncomfortable that Shiloh is constantly dressing in boys clothing. And yes he has problems with his gender now!!I do feel that children should have some say in what they wear but need to be explained to that there are occasions to dress for the event properly.
I wonder why Brad doesn't say anything about it. Jolie seems to wear the pants in that family. Next time she feels like adding to her brood,I hope she will just pick a child and support it instead of dragging it all over the country in a unbelievable lifestyle.

It's very stupid of you guys to say Jolie and Pitt are MAKING her a lesbian. Who is telling her she should like men? The kid is having her style the way she wants! Jolie isn't trying to make her wear certain things... Also, parents can't force a kid's sexuality! How many parents out there try to make their gay child straight? How many transexuals out there spent their entire childhood wearing what is socially acceeptable for their gender and grew up to OPPOSE wearing what society thinks they should wear???

I believe, especially after having just read the new biography entitled Angelina, that Jolie has purposefully de-feminized Shiloh in order that there is no competition with Brad for attention. Shiloh is obviously stunning and is Brad's first biological child--belive me, nothing that Jolie does is coincindental. Shiloh's ridiculous tomboy attire and short hair is as contrived toward Jolie's purposes as was her skanky, adulterous stealing of Brad Pitt. You know the saying, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig...

My daughter is also very much a tomboy, and unfortunately we live in a lifestyle where modesty is very important. So I've helped her to make concessions where necessary. I.E., blue (and boy-like) colored clothing with skirts (Must have pockets) - but she is allowed to play with super heroes, play karate, cars, and etc. (She also has a very favorite motorcycle shirt) But at the same time, she does occassionally play with dolls, and the like. I think its just their personality and I remember being the same way except I didn't play with dolls. My oldest is very girly so its interesting to see the difference between the two.

Based on my experiences, you cant judge what a child will grow up to be as many of them may change their preferences and style during the teen years and is not a forecast of sexual orientation or moral values.

Let Angelie Jolie be the best judge of character and how to raise her kids -

What I see are some very happy healthy children with loving parents. I have been a Tomboy my whole life, im not a lesbian. I have been married 18 years and have 2 beautiful children. I had my own sense of dressing from the time I was 3 years old. My mother would have loved to dress me in dresses and I abhored them. I had 2 older brothers and wanted to dress and play just like them, it is perfectly natural. I grew up playing sports and playing only with boys by choice. I feel this is perfectly normal and healthy. As a matter of fact this helped me later in life relate to men. And I still never wear dresses. Good for you Shiloh be your own person.
