The 25-year-old rocker chick's latest eau de parfum, which rolled out in Kohl's stores nationwide yesterday (August 15), is a more sophisticated scent than her debut perfume, Black Star.
Poured into a star-shaped bottle topped with a black rose cap and sealed with a barbed wire ring, Lavigne says that this purple-hued fragrance is about "pushing the boundaries and having no limits."
"I wanted to create a fragrance which takes the unique attitude of my first scent to a new emotional depth, adding mystery as well as a bit of magic," Lavigne told StyleList in an exclusive interview.
StyleList recently attended the launch for Forbidden Rose at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City where Lewis Peacock of P&G's Fragrance Creation Team invited a group of beauty editors to explore the olfactory story behind the fragrance, as well as get a sneak peek of the ad campaign featuring the Canadian native glamorously running through an equally dark and mysterious woods à la Snow White.
"[Forbidden Rose] is about temptation, fantasy and mystery," says Peacock. "A musical chord of notes."
Working alongside Lavigne to bring her fragrance to life, they perfected a fruity-floral blended with red apple, wine peach, and white lotus, but with a woody base made up of vanilla and sweet praline.
Are you looking forward to scoring Forbidden Rose?
Meanwhile, see which hip-hop and soul singer broke unfamiliar territory (and HSN records) with her debut fragrance.

Avril is great, but her fansite sucks! I want everybody to know that Sharifa Mohamed, who runs the AvrilBandAids.com site, is nothing but a liar and a cheat who treats Avril’s REAL fans like dirt. The ‘fansite’ is really just a way for her to exploit the fans for money. So I’m calling her out on it.
What happened to me was, I won a contest that the site ran last year; a contest designed to drum up lots of hits. I worked hard for my prize, and earned Sharifa over a million hits, but a year later, no prize has arrived. None of the winners got their prizes! When I complained, I was banned from the site.
It’s not the only example of Sharifa’s exploiting Avril’s fans. She posts links to phony sites, offering a rare Avril EP, but in reality it’s just a scam to gather personal information. I can only assume that Sharifa is paid by companies to send hits their way. In essence, she is selling Avril’s fans to the highest bidders.
Screw you, Sharifa, and screw AvrilBandAids.com. Die and burn in hell.
