Plus-size e-tailer OneStopPlus.com will be hosting the first ever plus-size-only runway show during next month's fashion festivities, according to a company press release.
Scheduled for Sept. 15 at The Atrium in Frederick P. Rose Hall at Lincoln Center, the curvy "Belle Epoque"-themed catwalk will reportedly feature plus-size models like Lizzie Miller and Toccara Jones modeling the Spring 2011 collections.
OneStopPlus brand ambassador Emme is also on tap to host the red carpet.
"The recent confluence of events and energy within the plus-size movement makes this the perfect time for OneStopPlus.com to debut at New York Fashion Week," Stephanie Sobel, president of OneStopPlus.com, says in the release.
"Top plus-size models like Crystal Renn and Lizzie Miller in Italian Vogue, French Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire, and others validate that this is the magic moment for plus sizes."
"It's about inclusion and fashion democracy: fashion risk-taking and empowerment," adds the site's vice-president of design, Zahir Babvani.
"No more seeing what you can't have; this is a fashion party that invites and inspires everyone."
Meanwhile, one-quarter of British women wear a UK size 18 and higher, according to new research.
