It may be 90 degrees outside, but back-to-school catalogs have filled our mailboxes for weeks, and everyone is starting to think about what they'll wear as the weather turns cooler. For this installment of The Weekender, here's a grown-up outfit that takes its inspiration for what all the kids will be wearing this fall.

Style tips:
  • Wide-leg pants: Everyone from Zac Posen to Richard Chai showed billowy wide-leg pants for fall. This shape lengthens the legs and looks great with fall's other big trend, platform clogs.
  • Shoes: If you buy on pair of shoes for fall, they should be clogs. The platform shoes are a continuation of the 70s silhouette that we mentioned above. We love this TopShop pair because it gives you the benefit of an extremely high heel with the added comfort of the built-in platform.
  • Top: Lots of designers showed brushstroke, paint-splatter and watercolor printed leggings for fall. But that can be a tough look to pull off. So we'd suggest trying out that trend in a more versatile piece like this Anthropologie tank.
  • Sweater: Dries Van Noten, Chloé, Michael Korn -- it seems like every designer sent at least one camel-colored piece down the runway for fall. This lightweight sweater will be a great piece to transition from summer to fall.
