"Fashion's Night Out was such an amazing success last year that we wanted to come up with a concept that would take it into the digital universe," von Furstenberg, who outfitted the Rockettes for amfAR's Life Ball in July, said in a statement.
"The Experience Lounge is our way of inviting everyone to engage with the fashion community and also interact with DVF, and who better to create that interactive experience than HP."
Also partnering with indie fashion site Refinery29.com, the Experience Lounge will launch during a Sept.10 FNO party at DVF's West 14th Street flagship. HP, which previously collaborated with Warner Brothers for "Sex and the City 2," will revamp the shop by bringing in its newest products, like the HP TouchSmart, notebook PCs, and Web-enabled printers.
Surprise guests will pop up during the night, and the boutique also features a photo booth where shoppers can pose in a DVF wardrobe styled by the savvy Refinery29 editors, then print the images with the HP products and live stream them into the Lounge for all to see.
As they relax, guests will also catch an all-day stream of the CFDA Tweet Up in Lincoln Center, featuring a conversation between executive director Steven Kolb and the Swarovski accessories designer nominees.
The last invitation-only event at the Lounge will be on Sept. 12, when tech and fashion collide as von Furstenberg -- who launched an eyewear and Kindle-cover collection earlier this year -- live streams her Spring 2011 show at her shop via HP.
