While many of our favorite celebs shocked us with their bold fashion statements at the 2010 Emmy Awards, we were even more surprised with their fresh take on the classic smoky eye and bright lips.

Pretty young things Anna Paquin, Lea Michele, and Amber Riley stood out on the Emmys red carpet with smoldering, smoky eyes that shimmered in refreshing shades. Newlywed Paquin definitely has that "just married" glow. And she played this up by highlighting her lids and cheeks with dusty, gold hues.

"Glee" star Michele accentuated her navy strapless Oscar de la Renta gown with by lining up upper lids with blue shadow. Groomed brows, black mascara, and pink cheeks and gloss completed the actress' look.

Fellow "Glee" beauty Riley opted for a more youthful smoky eye to pair with her white Grecian gown. The dual-blend of pink and charcoal eyeshadows popped against Riley's brown skin tone and balanced out her nude pout.

Fall may be just around the corner, but that's not stopping actresses like Kyra Sedgwick, Christina Hendricks, and Rutina Wesley from wearing bright lips. Makeup artist Robin Siegel perfected "The Closer" star's pout by smoothing on Rouge Dior Lipcolor #880 (Devilish Pink). With such a bold lipstick, Siegel kept Sedgwick's eyes soft by sweeping on Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Misty Mauve.

Hendricks' makeup look was inspired by Mia Farrow's character Daisy Buchanan in "The Great Gatsby." "It's not flapper per se," celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali tells StyleList. "It's girly but revolutionary strong."

Scali prepped Hendricks' face with Lancôme's La Base Pro and perfected her complexion with Teint Miracle Lit-From-Within Makeup and Effacernes Concealer. She then added a pop of color to the apples of her cheeks using Lancôme's Blush Subtil Shimmer in Pink Pool. A subtle, smoky eye was achieved by mixing YSL's Ombre Solo Eyeshadow in Cashmere Brown and Midnight Black. "I applied these all over her lid, under the bottom lashes and blended it out past her natural lash line to softly elongate the eye," says Scali.

She then lined her lids with Lancôme's Le Crayon Khôl in Black and applied Artliner Precision Point Eyeliner in Noir along the base of Hendrick's lashes before layering on tons of Lancôme Définicils Waterproof Mascara in Black. To perfect a slightly, two-toned juicy lip, Scali applied a sheer coat of Color Design Matte Lipstick in Corset was topped by La Laque Fever Lipshine in Cyber Coral. "It gives a bit of dimension and is luscious."

"True Blood's" Wesley saucy, red-orange lip popped against her warm, brown complexion. Celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales used Nars Powder Blush in Gilda and Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Vesuvio. The semi-glossy lipcolor complemented her warm cheek, heavily-lined upper lids, and sexy waves.
