The designer recently opened an enormous new shop at Saks Fifth Avenue's flagship store in New York City. Cutting a giant "Elie Tahari" ribbon were the designer, Saks CEO Steven Sadove and president Ron Frasch among about 75 fans and friends on the store's fourth floor.
"This shop is more reflective of the freestanding stores we're opening," Tahari told StyleList. "It's bright, you can see the merchandise, the dressing rooms are large and there's a sofa for the husband. We figured out that if you can keep the husband happy, the wife shops."
"We want to show his brand," Frasch explained. "He's got jewelry, he's got shoes, he's got handbags – this is the right way to treat a brand and the right way to service a customer. He gives his customer a great value, great design, great fit and the customers love him. This shop really is the centerpiece of this floor."
Tahari broke in, "You know Saks' slogan is 'I'm going to Saks,' I say we're growing at Saks."
