TLC's popular "Say Yes to the Dress" will bring fans more to love next month, when it unveils its "Big Bliss" series featuring curvaceous brides-to-be in search of their perfect gown.

The plus-size version of "Say Yes" will be set at the iconic Kleinfeld bridal emporium in New York City, where the original series has been filmed for five seasons.

Earlier this year, TLC also added a southern-style edition of "Say Yes" set at bustling Bridals by Lori in Atlanta.

"Big Bliss," which premieres Oct. 1, will include six half-hour episodes that focus on women who have struggled with weight their whole lives. Each week, viewers will follow the "emotional journey of these plus-size brides as they shop to fulfill their dream-dress fantasy," according to TLC.

Proving bridezillas come in all shapes and sizes, the featured "sassy and confident" brides include a full-figured girl who professes a desire to look "trashy" on her wedding day. (StyleList has our ring fingers crossed that Kleinfeld's persuasive fashion director, Randy Fenoli, will stage an intervention.)

We'll also meet a plus-size aspiring bride who scores a big, romantic proposal on the same day she finds her dream dress. ("We do" look forward to getting the dish on that dress-before-the-proposal episode!)

StyleList is also hoping the new series sheds new insights on the phenomenon of brides choosing heavier bridesmaids to make them look thinner.

And just in case you can't get enough of the original, TLC has picked up the series for a sixth season, set to air Feb. 2011.

Meanwhile, read about the bridal dos some Hollywood newlyweds sported at this year's Emmys.

First there's Bridezillas that seems to showcase fat, ugly (in demeanor) women, now this show also wants to pander to the fat, obese uglies?

That's what I do. Fortunately, on some of the other sites, "The Boot" for example, at least omit them from my page. Not sure if this happens to other viewers when I report it. I, too, get tired of seeing all this self-promotion/spam.

I find it insulting. "Say Yes" has had a number of larger women on their show already. Does this mean they don't want the "haves" mixed in with the "have nots"?

Fair point--I saw an episode just last week that involved a young woman who was not, to borrow the show's phrase, "sample size" and some of the challenges to getting a good fit for her. Why not just continue with the formula that brides are brides and that they are all coming into the boutique with issues of some sort?

Making "stars" or showcasing overweight women is not in the best interest of those of us who control our eating, or especially other overweight people. They will think it's okay to be fat. Most of the overweight are unhealthy (which the rest of us pay for in their missed work, higher insurance costs and usage, more avoidable medical visits, prescriptions, diseases and operations let alone their emotional toll), Most are unhappy, sad and often quite disagreeable. It's difficult to even move when you are overweight let alone drive safely if you are obese (you can't turn the wheel effectively). Help them lose the weight by not adding them to shows like being overweight is normal or good for people. It isn't.

You're kidding right? You know how people think and feel and move? Being overweight can be indeed dangerous yet so is ignorance. Are you blonde?

Lynnfisher: You are very very wrong in all you have said! Where do you get your ideas from? Oh yeah, those perky $6.00 fashion Mags and movies, media of the superficial kind. There is way more to life than a size number on your pants. I don't imagine there is a lot of difference between how a woman feels becuse of size, maybe brain matter.

Honestly.. your an idiot!! Im about 5'7 and 220.. I do not over eat and I go to the gym everyday.. stop commenting on something you know nothing about... One of my friends is actually on this show and she is also not a BEAST that has trouble driving.. and for the record.. we both get out fat asses out of bed and go to work everyday and pay our own medical insurance!!! AND IM ONE OF THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET, TILL I READ GARBAGE LIKE THIS.. Knowing my friend is one of the people you are talking about!! If this is what you do with your free time.. Id like to cast you in a show and call it.. I sit home and write negative things about people cause I have nothing better to do with my life.. Or LOSER for short!!

Lynn you sound like a retarded person, i see more skinny people drop dead from all kinds of sickness.. Having curves does not mean fat.. Real woman have curves, you people think a woman at 100 lbs is normal. I'm a curvy, educated, happy and healthy woman who is in love with a man who finds me beautiful because i find myself beautiful. Stop your ignorance and accept the people the way they are and don't judge every body because you have seen a few obese people and think all of them feel the same.

Lynn,

How wonderful for you that you are SO perfect and SO qualified to diagnose all the problems that overweight people have! So you watch what you eat, well good goody for you! Exactly what makes YOU such an expert on overweight people? Just because someone's overweight dosen't give you the right to ridicue them and decide they are not as worthy as employees who are thin. Seems like you are just another thin person who is completely intolerant to those who are overweight, not to mention unempathetic! People like you are the reason why there is discrimination, I'll bet you would be the one who would decide not to hire somebody who has less than a perfect weight too...I really think you need to think before you speak and come off sounding like a bitch!

Seeing something like this doesn't translate to me that it's okay to be fat. It just highlights the difficulties of finding something decent to wear when you're above the norm. I think you and others are reading too much into things. Anyway, there are lovely women at all sizes so let's dress them up!

As to the rest of what you've written which is quite full of generalizations and out of line. I, as an overweight person, work hard and miss no more work than my skinny or average sized coworkers (in fact I miss less work and need to make a conscious effort to book time off). I also have not had cause to see my doctor fortunately any more than for my regular checkups and the occasional cold. I'm not by far the only person like this so none of us are burdening the system. The true burden on the medical system comes from other sources that are too complicated to address in this forum. I would also remind you that like other people fat people pay for insurance, taxes, etc. and are entitled to the benefits they've earned!

Also, I have found that there's an equal distribution of unhappy, sad and often quite disagreeable people among all sizes. It's only because fat people "stand out" so to speak that you notice. Need I mention Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, the Olsen sisters, etc. among the well-known people? All normal to very slender (and I believe one diagnosed as anorexic) and yet all have had openly unhappy, difficult periods in their lives.

Live healthily and keep your judgmental attitude to yourself lest one day you are judged by your standards.

No need to label larger women. They are every bit as lovely as the skinny girls. Referring to them as fat obese uglies says alot more about your inner ugly,Kyotee. You have a real ugly and mean spirit. I was a size 5 most of my life but now am not. Be careful what you say ugly because life has a way of making you eat your words.

Big Bliss? WTF?? Why not just call it Fat Girl Fitting? Come on Say Yes To The Dress the title is insulting. How about "Say Yes To The Dress Plus Size Edition" or something else along that line. There is no need to use Big in the title worse yet, Big Bliss. Wait, I forgot fat girls can't even find dates let alone a husband??? What a crock...get with the program more then half the women in the US are over a size 14. Am I fat?
