At 11am on Columbus Avenue between 64th and 65th Streets, fashion fans can see CFDA president Diane von Fusternberg, IMG Chairman and CEO Ted Forstmann, Lincoln Center Chair Katherine Farley and Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn join Bloomberg in introducing the new Fashion Week venue -- Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park -- as the center for shows and presentations for the Spring 2011 collections and beyond.
Damrosch Park will replace Bryant Park (which has housed Fashion Week since 1993) as the headquarters of the semi-annual event, which draws more than 230,000 attendees each year and generates over $770 million in revenue. (See industry vet Fern Mallis say goodbye to Bryant Park in StyleList's vlog from last season).
Of course, Bloomberg and crew won't be the first people christening Lincoln Center's grounds.
Tonight over 150 models -- including uber-models Gisele, Naomi and Allessandra Ambrosio -- will strut around the famed Revson Fountain in Lincoln Center as part of Fashion's Night Out: The Show, the largest fashion show in New York City history. (Read more about the catwalk participants).
Non-New Yorkers can get in on the Lincoln Center action starting with a live webcast on CBS.com of tomorrow's giant fashion show (read about it here), as well as QVC's week-long live broadcasts.
