At the Christian Siriano 2011 show at New York Fashion Week, models looked like they'd spent some time in the sun, with well-traveled hair.

THE SCOOP: Christian Siriano was inspired by a hodgepodge of cultures for his Spring 2011 collection, and the hair and makeup reflect a melding of travel and culture. From the inside of an Asian temple to Africa, shimmery metallic and diaphanous fabrics took center stage, with the hair and makeup teams coordinating a look to duplicate being under the sun (makeup) and travel across the globe (hair). The signature look for hair has been dubbed "the tribal bun," inspired by a giraffe print found in the collection, which Antoinette Beenders tells StyleList is what she based the hair on. "We created an Afro-like texture in the bun, and used the Aveda Style-Prep Smoother to sleek back the front of the hair. The reason why we do this is to create the look of a neck of a giraffe." Polly Osmond describes her look as that of "A nomadic traveler; a sun-kissed look with matte colors and pigment around the cheeks and eyes with a great blend effect, topped off with a very pale lip."

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP:
Accentuate the cheeks to get this sun goddess look. Use Victoria's Secret Makeup's bronzer/highlighter in Goddess/Afterglow for a super sun-kissed aesthetic. Tone it down a bit more for everyday, as the runway look tends to veer in an extreme direction. The next key element is to apply silky eyeshadow in Snow and Pose with the VS Pro Voluptuous FX Mascara, and top it off with the VS Perfect Lipstick in Whisper.

GET THE LOOK-HAIR: Beenders tells us that this a simple look to duplicate: merely pull the hair into a tight pony tail, crimp it, and fluff it out. Use a Mason Pearson brush to brush and part sections and then pull them back into a high ponytail. Spray with Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Spray. Next spritz Aveda Brilliant Spray-On Shine onto a brush and run through the sides of hair for some exceptional shine. Crimp, bobby pin, and brush again, securing the bun then into place, and pull a few pieces out for a messier look, Finish up with the Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Spray.
