That's it, we're halting our coverage of New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 for a really good reason: We are heading to the gym.

It is not too early -- repeat, not too early -- to start working on our abs for next spring, when we expect lots of looks that show off tummies.

Not-quite-crop tops, but tops that will bare some skin with any movement are all over the runways. They are coy, not tacky. We liked what we we saw at Cynthia Rowley, Jill Stuart and Risto - subtle and sexy, these abbreviated tops still leave lots to the imagination.

But while they don't reveal a lot, they definitely reveal enough. More than enough if you anything other than a toned mid-section.

A little bolder are halter or bandeau tops beneath open jackets. Sometimes the look is classic summer pin-up girl, and other times it is slightly more business-like. So if you've got it, flaunt it.

Our best advice to you for wearing this trend is to step away from the computer, lay down on the floor and start crunching. Then don't stop until St. Patrick's Day.
