Online retailer Piperlime is venturing outside of cyberspace and coming to life -- at least for 25 days.
A pop-up shop just opened on Mercer and Spring streets in New York City's SoHo and is packed to the gills with a well-edited collection of clothing, shoes, and accessories.
"We're so excited to do the pop-up store in New York to really build news about the brand and the retail concept itself," Jennifer Gosselin, vice president and general manager of Piperlime, tells StyleList.
Manhattan was chosen because of its large concentration of customers. "Twenty percent of our customers come from New York and 20 percent of our revenue comes from New York," Gosselin adds.
In addition to bits from everyone from Free People to AG, there are pieces exclusive to Piperlime, including Kelsi Dagger and Cynthia Vincent boots, Tucker clothing, Rachel Zoe and 7 for All Mankind bell-bottoms, and jewelry made for Piperlime by Hive & Honey.
"We started in shoes in 2006 and our customer reacted so quickly, we added handbags and then we added clothing in the fall of last year," Gosselin shares. "The response has been tremendous."
And if you think you'd make a great stylist, stop by and put an outfit together. There are daily challenges for the 25 days the pop-up is open and the best outfit is placed in the store window, with the creator winning a Piperlime gift card.
