Backstage at the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 fashion show at New York Fashion Week, bold orange lips took center stage -- though big frizzy manes of curls and fuchsia pink pedicures also competed hungrily for attention.

THE SCOOP: Marc by Marc Jacob's Spring 2011 collection was big on bold color and breezy summer prints, and the beauty look added a punch of glamour with bright matte orange lips, taken "downtown" by electric-shocked frizzy curls and a mismatched mani-pedi featuring cream nude nail polish on tips and raspberry on toes.

"I wanted to tell a story from the moment the first girl steps out onto the runway, which is why I went with this very bright and flat orange lip," said Page. A hint of color custom-selected for each model's skin tone enhanced cheeks, while eyes peeked out from behind neutral lids with a fresh, wet-look finish.

Hair mimicked the Marc Jacobs collection look last night, with a pouf of Grace Coddington-like curls that were set with zig-zag pin curls and brushed down just a notch for the more youthful vibe that is the Marc by Marc Jacobs customer. "It's that decadent frizz from the 1930's that we revisited in the '70's -- and now pulling it back half-way gives it a modern vibe," said Palau.

Fingertips also repeated the custom-mixed creamy bare shade with a super matte topcoat from last night's collection, which manicurist Ferri says Jacobs can't get enough of. "But we didn't want to do matchy-matchy with the hands and toes. He asked for a pop of color on the toes, 'the perfect pink,' were his words," said Ferri.
