Fresh on the heels of a successful children's wear collaboration with the retail giant, the British designer is set to launch Stella McCartney Kids in early November -- just in time for the holidays.
"As a brand with many working parents in the team, I wanted to create a desirable, fun, wearable kids collection that was affordable," McCartney says.
"I feel like all the timeless children's wear is reserved for the expensive brands and that did not sit well with me.
"Kids and parents, aunts, uncles, friends, should all be able to have access to Stella McCartney Kids clothes. We have tried to make that possible in this first collection and hope it is enjoyed."
The capsule collection will include styles for boys and girls ranging in age from newborn to 12. Some of the designs include:
- The Ingrid floral-print dress for girls
- The Aldo quilted field jacket for boys
- The unisex Sam wool-and-cashmere-blend peacoat
- The unisex Tammy natural-rubber rain boots
- Organic cotton onesies
- Underwear of the week
Along with shopping, the new site will boast a "playground section" where children can interact with their parents.
Look for spring/summer styles to hit stores in February, summer to settle in next May, and autumn/winter to arrive in August.
