DESIGNER: Pamella Roland
INSPIRATION: Recent trip to the Greek Isles
WHO WAS THERE: Hilary Swank, Denise Richards, Lori Loughlin, Sally Pressman
TOP LOOKS: Strapless navy-and-white multicolor bias chiffon evil-eye-embroidered gown; rust four-ply crepe asymmetrical soft organic pleated dress; ivory georgette V-neck dress with silver embroidery and bell sleeves
ACCESSORIES: Very minimal. Chopard jewelry, including a chunky gold necklace.
WHAT WE THOUGHT: For celebs on the red carpet, Roland offers plenty of options: metallic silver sequin gown; black lace and charmeuse pleated gown; or a one-shoulder ivory gown with crystal chain detailing. The designer drew inspiration, however, from a more relaxed lifestyle: vacationing in the Greek Isles this summer.
Witness the Mediterranean blue or orange watercolor-print silk chiffon dresses; expertly draped and pleated frocks; and crystal-accented tunic dresses -- all dressy enough for a summer dinner out, yet casual enough for an easygoing getaway. Roland's most dramatic look was a beautiful strapless navy-and-white gown, which she said required 40 yards of chiffon. "This dress took ages to create," she pointed out to StyleList. "The hand-embroidery and draping of the fabric is incredible. And the evil-eye motif was everywhere I went in Greece."
