THE SCOOP: For Proenza Schouler's Spring 2011 fashion show, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez went ladylike with Chanel-esque box jackets and billowy skirts. To balance out the feminine touches in the collection, the beauty teams perfected lived-in looks.
Lead makeup artist Diane Kendal gave the girls a boyish feel by filling in the brows for a squarish shape and using very little foundation and concealer so that the model's natural skin discolorations came through. "The boys wanted the girls to be fresh and cool, so that's why we decided to go with this minimal, strong look."
Hairstylist Paul Hanlon switched the 'dos up this season. Instead of going the young, school girl way, he fashioned sophisticated, bedhead-sexy strands. "It's a weird twist on a Hitchcock girl," said Hanlon. "It's not too ritzy. It's like she's slept in her hair for three days, tried to pin it up, but it's falling out."

GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All hair products by Frédéric Fekkai. Spray on Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray heavily throughout the hair from roots to ends to build texture and create fullness. Using a diffuser, finger-comb dry. Then loosely gather and tuck the top half of the hair into a French Twist at the nape of the neck, leaving a few long layers of hair free. Set the style with Sheer Hold Hairspray.
