WHAT WE THOUGHT: Cocktail frocks are Vivienne Tam's specialty. Known for intricate embellishments and dark, moody colors, she decorated her Spring 2011 dresses with her classic delicate detailing, but in a host of lighter and brighter colors than we have seen her use in seasons past.

Crochet and lace in neutral and earthy tones gave the pieces a boho-hippie feel, while expert tailoring ensured they looked polished and sophisticated. Dresses with flirty open backs and sheer fluttery sleeves were irresistible. Harem pants and long dresses floated down the runway in deep blues and greens, and Indian-inspired bead details flavored the pieces with a peasant girl-chic spirit.
