MAKEUP: Dick Page for Shiseido
HAIR: Eugene Souleiman for Wella
NAILS: Wanda Ruiz for CND
SNAPSHOT: Ladylike, Trashed
THE SCOOP: Mizrahi's Spring 2011 collection focused on three ideas: Xerox-copied prints, florals and embellished bling. The hair, makeup and nails had to complement all three, since all the girls got the same beauty treatment. Page described the makeup as "pure" and "blank," aside from defined and filled-in brows and the "over-painted" lips. The lips were not unlike the ones we saw at DVF, bold and saturated with color, here in pinky coral.
Souleiman described the hair as "ladylike, but trashed and a bit quirky." The girls got a sort of undone updo that was matted down and roughed up.
Mizrahi told the CND team he wanted "mannequin hands" like a "perfect Barbie" with polish that made the nails simply disappear.
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by Shiseido. Page smoothed foundation and powder on the skin to make it flawless. He filled in brows and gave the lashes a coat of black mascara and left the cheeks bare. The lips were painted with a custom-blended shade of bright pinky coral, which was applied with a lip brush and extended just beyond the lip line.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All hair products by Wella. Souleiman put the hair in a ponytail before turning it inside out and giving it a liberal coating of System Professional Ultimation hairspray before it sat under a hair net of sorts while the girls got their makeup done. After makeup, the net came off and the ends of the ponytail were backcombed and pinned in place, for overall slept-in effect.
GET THE LOOK - NAILS: All products by CND. Ruiz gave the nails a coat of an opaque, creamy nude shade called Desert Suede and then two layers of Super Matte Top Coat for a naked, fleshy look.
