INSPIRATION: Pretty dresses and sharp suiting, as is the Narciso Rodriguez custom
TOP LOOKS: Sequin rose-gold dresses and tops with sheer black overlay; bias-cut silk ladylike slip dresses; tuxedo suits
ACCESSORIES: Studded pointy-toe (not too high) heels
WHO WAS THERE: Courtney Love (who texted her way through the show), Sarah Jessica Parker, Claire Danes
WHAT WE THOUGHT: Whereas in recent seasons past Narciso Rodriguez was on a creatively charged run, this time around he stayed closer to his classical upbringing (i.e., lots of bias-cut dresses). The tailoring in these frocks and the tuxedo-y suits was nothing to yawn at; if anything, Rodriguez is a master of his craft. Still, with the exception of the trio of black-overlay rose-gold garments at the end, this was a little bit sleepier collection than we've come to expect.
