DESIGNER: Christopher Bailey for Burberry

INSPIRATION: The title of the collection with "Heritage Biker", taking Thomas Burberry's designs for England's first motorbike riders in the early 1900s as the starting point.

TOP LOOKS: Last season, it was Bailey's shearling aviators that got the audience cooing – and in the six months that have followed, the high street has spawned numerous versions. Desire for yesterday's intricately spiked and studded jackets will undoubtedly replace aviator-envy. Burberry's classic trench was also given a tougher, sexier edge; recreated in leather and python, it was given motocross-style padded leather sleeves, and in places, shrunken down with zip fastenings to transform into a jacket fit for a biker babe. The motocross padding continued onto skinny leather trousers, with the silver version giving a definite nod to glam rock, while silk leopard print mini-dresses with harness-like straps were perfect for party girls.

WHO WAS THERE: Cat Deeley, socialite Poppy Delevigne, Alexa Chung, Sarah Jessica Parker, Serena Williams and Andy Murray.

ACCESSORIES: Killer stiletto heels - as the poor model who toppled to the ground at show finale found out...

WHAT WE THOUGHT:
The classic English rose Burberry girls had vanished, and in their place were biker chicks with buckets of attitude, and the final track, Pinball Wizard by The Who, reinforced the 70s mood on the runway. We have no doubt that Bailey has hit another homerun with his spiky, harder versions of Burberry staples. The only problem with the collection? It wasn't exactly spring/summer dressing - but with live stream viewers able to order the collection as the clothes made their way down the runway, perhaps that's the point. Like a classic trench, Bailey wants his designs to be worn all year round.
