"Since eBay launched when I was in high school, I would look for the best vintage bags -- Chanel, Louis Vuitton," the reality star/fashion designer tells StyleList. "Now, I do a search by label because I'm always looking for Chanel jackets and bags."
Port, decked out in a super-mini vintage eighties dress complete with broad shoulders and a bow tie, joined the eBay team at New York's Astor Place on Tuesday to launch the shopping site's new LookBook feature.
Passersby were invited to enter the eBay "shop," style a look from its vast collection of clothing, shoes, and accessories, get their photo taken by Lucky magazine's street photographer Michael Waring, and then upload the picture to eBay's new LookBook area, where visitors can vote on their favorite styles.
Celebrity stylist Annabel Tollman was also on hand to help people make their style ideas come to life.
"We have racks of merchandise that came from fashion.ebay.com. There are 20 million live listings every day, so there's pretty much everything available in the fashion world," she tells StyleList. "New Chloe, vintage Halston, non-branded vintage – it's like potentially having the whole world in your closet."
For those who missed the New York debut, the eBay team, including Tollman and Port, will set up shop at the Gilmore Lane at West 3rd Street in Los Angeles on Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Or simply upload your picture at www.ebaylookbook.com and tag up to three items.
The 25 looks that get the most votes will be eligible to win a $5,000 eBay shopping spree, a photo shoot with Michael Waring, a style consultation with a Lucky magazine editor, and more, as decided by the eBay style panel.
"The eBay LookBook is curated by the shoppers, and it's the ultimate celebration of who you are," Tollman added. "And the great thing is that the eBay shoppers will vote on who they think has the best personal style."
