Katy Perry is no stranger to in-your-face fashion. So, we weren't surprised to see the "California Girl" celebrating Oktoberfest in ceremonial garments.

Over the weekend in Munich, Perry performed on the German televison show "Wetten, dass..?" in a polka-dot and floral mesh Bavarian Dirndl -- a traditional German dress, as our friends over at PopEater report.

But of course, the singer gave her outfit a more modern flare by pairing it with black ankle strap platform heels and loose curls.

"I love lederhosen," she joked, People reports.

The 25-year-old pop star sang her hit "Teenage Dream." But it was her performance of "Edelweiss"' from "The Sound of Music" that prompted the costume change.
