Jordin Sparks is spreading her fruity floral love to the masses.

The 2007 American Idol winner arrived in a one-shoulder pink satin dress with strappy black stilettos sandals and a voluminous mane of cascading curls this morning at New York's Bryant Park Hotel, where she launched a scent named in honor of her fans -- Because of You.

"Orange is my favorite color to wear and perform in, and is also the color I used to bring awareness to skin cancer, which a very close friend died of," said Sparks, of the time a couple years ago when she streaked her locks the bright citrus shade and sported matching bracelets. "It's the main note in my fragrance, in honor of Wendy."

With top notes of clementine, orange blossom and white imperial currant, the splashy scent blends mid notes of nectarine, orchid and coral charm peony with a base of sheer musk, vanilla bean, Baltic amber and blonde woods. The shocking pink glint of the bottle and package conjures images of the iconic '80's scent, Electric Youth.

"I wanted a very holdable bottle with a girly look that catches the eye," said the songstress of the dewy scent, which will be marketed to the 16 to 30 female demographic. An affordable $14.95 price tag for the 2.5 fl oz eau de parfum will further be discounted to $9.50 as a special introductory offer through this month at dots.com.

And now that the soon-to-be 21 year-old is living on her own for the first time in New York so that she can perform In the Heights on Broadway, the former Arizona resident is gearing up for fall with some key buys. "I just got the most comfortable pink cardigan from Old Navy last week, and found this great orange scarf. Scarves are my go-to item once the weather gets cool," said Sparks.

Another key buy on her shopping jaunt last week has been Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. "I've been using it for a few days, and my skin has been so soft and smooth!" said Sparks. Also at the top of her beauty kit are MAC Lip Gelée, "the $3 lashes you get at CVS and Walgreens," and Ouidad hair products that the star said, "have totally changed my life and my outlook on having curly hair."

In between getting lost on the subway as a newly-arrived New Yorker and putting in eight shows a week that Sparks said, "is really kicking my butt," the songstress added that she has already started work on her third album, and also has plans to come out with a unisex fragrance and men's cologne for the other half of her fans.

"It has been a real exciting time for me, and I don't know how I would've done it all without the support rock of my family and friends. I'm growing up in all areas of my life."
