Spring 2011 Beauty Trend to Try Now: Wine Lips

The Paris runways were crushing on vino-inspired lips during Spring 2011 Fashion Week. Louis Vuitton, Emanuel Ungaro, Yves Saint Laurent, and Givenchy all showcased a rich, deep-bordeaux pout -- an indicator that this year, bold, dark lipsticks need not be packed away with the sweaters and scarves come spring.

It may sound suspect, but we think wine lips will contrast nicely with the floral, light flavors of spring fashion (and your tanned skin). And though it may traditionally scream fall, we're putting a spring in its step with a few insider beauty tips.

For a dark spring lip, stick with cooler shades that have blue, rather than brown undertones. This will keep the color looking modern and fresh and also help to brighten your smile. Try Make Up For Ever Number 46 or Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick in Intimidate. For something a bit more sheer, go for NARS Lipstick in Tamango.

It's best to keep the rest of your makeup minimal for a clean, crisp look that lets the lips shine. Backstage at Yves Saint Laurent, Pat McGrath paired a gloss-covered, deep-bordeaux mouth with a clear complexion and barely-there eyes (bleached brows and no mascara). Over at Givenchy, a creamy complexion and tawny-dusted eyes provided the perfect background for the deep-scarlet pout.

And the final touch before taking your new lip look for a frolic in the daisies? A glaze of gloss for sweet, springtime shine.

Click here for 5 more ways to get glam for fall.

Plus, check out these daring, two-dimensional manicures spotted on the Spring 2011 runways!

Uh, keep the eye makeup "barely there". ok. So show the models with heavy color. Gosh, what should I do??? Plus, the first model eyes look very scarey!

Horror movie makeup-perfect for this months festivities, however IF you really want to be attractive to, oh let's say, a real genuine guy, then natural up-the two sample photos above ignore anything approaching what men are attracted to, just loverly...However IF you already have your man the look is great for say - getting rid of him...Does the one eyed newly blond broad drive like that, bet she walks into loads of doors..or walls.. The one with the faux braid-did she not appear in one of the horror flicks for the early mid last century-is she about to bite a neck? Only those insecure go with fads and this is one which hopefully won't last...

Maybe they look good to some, but not me. Lipstick just way to dark.

That color lipstick was poplar (well; they tryed)when I was in my 20's, that was 40 yrs. ago. I hated that color back then and I dislike it even more now. It looks awful on any color skinned person.

As a regular guy that's seen the makeup changes for almost 70 years I can only add what I've found that most guys like. First, we don't like those dark lips. We don't like the "shock red" lips either. Tone it down a little. And what's with the wet look. So shiny...the lips look like they've been painted with Sears gloss enamel paint. No lip liner either. Looks like clown makeup. The other thing we don't like is way too much eye makeup. Softer is better. The black stuff is so overdone lately it makes the girls look like they got beat up by their pimp last night. Leave the bleach bottle under the sink too. Redheads bring out the fire in almost everyone! ;-))
