As the temperature dips, we're thinking about feathering our nest for the cold months ahead. So we're going to throw on some cable knit, hop in the car, and go antiquing. For this installment of The Weekender, we've pulled together a rustic romantic look that would work well browsing country shops while sipping hot apple cider.

Style Tips:
  • Dress: Hemlines always seem to rest in extremes--one day it's mini, the next it's maxi. This fall, we're excited to find the middle ground with body-con dresses like this ASOS floral number. The mid-calf length allows you to spotlight cute boot-sock combos (a big trend for fall) and the side-ruching emphasizes the waistline.
  • Vest: This is the ideal season for puffer vests. It keeps your torso warm but leaves your arms free, preventing overheating. This padded, sporty item is an ideal contrast to the more form-fitting dress.
  • Bag: Fall's military trend translates particularly well in bags. The best news? Because a lot of the bags include mixed materials--wool and leather, waxed canvas and leather--the price points tend to be lower than with all-leather bags.
