"I was looking at the ornaments," she said, "and I thought, wouldn't dad (entertainer Danny Thomas) get a kick out of some of these leopard ones? Who ever would have thought there could be a sexy Christmas ornament?" She added, "They match my underpants."
The actress celebrated the launch of the ornaments, profits of which will benefit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tuesday evening at HSN's midtown New York offices. The television and online retailer commissioned more than 70 of its designer partners to create these limited-edition ornaments that will be sold exclusively on HSN starting on October 20.
And sexy seemed to be the theme of the evening. Iman's ornament featured her likeness in a mini-Santa dress, "I'm bringing the presents," she told StyleList. "Instead of ho-ho-ho, I'm saying ha-ha-ha," she said with a wink.
The impetus to do this project came from HSN CEO Mindy Grossman's desire to raise more than the $1 million the company and its supplier raised last year. "One-hundred percent of the profits are going to St Jude's," she said. "We hope that this multiplies to change the lives of children and their families."
Grossman, who is Jewish, admitted that these ornaments have inspired her to do something. "I have never had a tree in my whole life," she told StyleList. "I told my husband I want one for the black, white, and red ornaments."
Designers Reem Acra, Adrienne Landau, Jeffrey Banks, and Libby Edelman and more were on hand to celebrate the initiative.
