Wash, rinse, shoot, and repeat?
A New York City cop is being hailed as a hero for confronting and shooting a would-be robber while she was getting her hair done at a salon, the New York Times reports.
Officer Feris Jones was off-duty and enjoying a day of pampering at a Brooklyn beauty parlor Sabine's Hallway when suspect Winston Cox allegedly entered the salon, took out a revolver, and ordered the women to give him their money, according to the paper.
Little did he know that the 50-year-old Jones was packing more than some heated rollers.
After identifying herself to Cox as a police officer, he reportedly fired his gun at her. Jones returned fire and hit Cox in the right arm or thigh.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene, but left a trail of blood behind.
Now Jones -- who works in a Queens crime lab -- is being praised for her bravery.
"[She] demonstrated professionalism and remarkable calm in taking police action while off duty yesterday and foiling an armed robbery, and possibly worse," Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said in a statement.
Hey -- dos can wait. Do-gooding can't.
