Personal style: Comfortable classics paired with a funky accessory.
How do you feel?
The boots were amazing. I felt like I was wearing thick, tall socks.
How is the fit?
The long, straight lines did the same thing a pair of leggings or knit tights would do; cover and provide camouflage for my legs.
How is the material?
The faux suede was soft and extremely flexible.
Where would you wear them?
Any event that required lots of walking in place of a pair of heeled boots.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?
These pair well with skirts and dresses.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
The partial side zipper makes getting in and out of these boots much easier than I expected. I did have to go up a shoe size, but that is typical in my experience with Payless shoes.
How often would you wear them?
I can see myself wearing these boots often.
Would you buy them?
Definitely.

How do you feel?
I am excited the boots actually went over my calves but, I'm not sure if they are right for me.
How is the fit?
I like that they are flat since I am a new mommy and the winter is approaching but, on a fashionista side I feel kind of squatty.
How is the material?
Less appealing up close but overall pretty good. I like they won't be ruined easily from water contact either.
Where would you wear them?
Casual days and weekends.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?
I would pair them with skinny jeans or leggings and a tunic top. I don't see this style boot being flattering with a dress on my body.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
I actually had a panic attack at the store with the right foot. Both sides went on easily, but the right foot took a little maneuvering to get off.
How often would you wear them?
I think I could wear these a lot during the fall/winter.
Would you buy them?
For the price, I actually did. At $25 and a 20% coupon you can't pass it up.

How do you feel?
In this pair of boots I feel like I'm ready to take on the town. They're sophisticated enough to pair with skirts and dresses, but casual enough to walk a mile or two in if I've got somewhere to be.
How is the fit?
The fit is fabulous--I have very muscular calves that fill them out nicely.
How is the material?
The material is surprisingly well-made for faux suede. It's got plenty of give so my legs can breathe when worn pulled straight over the knee and has a natural slouch when the top of the boot is folded over.
Where would you wear them?
Just about anywhere. They're flat so they don't kill my feet, and also add leg-cover to a short and sassy sweater dress.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?I'm currently on the lookout for the perfect sweater-dress to compliment them.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
They're the easiest to get on over-the-knee boot I've ever worn. The side zipper is great for pulling down skinny jeans to ensure they stay tucked in. The top of the boot looks fabulous whether I pull it up straight or fold it over, so they're versatile enough to wear with leggings and dresses.
How often would you wear them?
A few times a week.
Would you buy them?
I did, and I don't regret my decision.

How do you feel?
As soon as I slid them on, I felt like I was calling attention to all the areas I would rather keep hidden.
How is the fit?
The size was correct but the way the boots fit in the foot area was extremely narrow. I had no problem fitting them over my jeans.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?I tried them on with a pair of skinny jeans and a loose fitting off-the-shoulder top.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
I could not slide them on. The one boot was such a problem to get on that I had to leave it unzipped in the pictures.
Would you buy them?
They would look adorable on someone younger, with a black mini and an embellished shouldered top...just not for me.

How do you feel?
There is so little cushioning at the base of the feet. I felt like my feet were too close to the concrete.
How is the fit?
The "over the knee" boot is popular this fall. I applaud Payless for making the effort to stay on trend however, these boots don't exactly make it "over" my knees. It would have been great if they added more fabric and had constructed the boot to fold over.
How is the material?
I wasn't thrilled with the material.
Where would you wear them?
I would wear these boots on a regular night out where I know I will be taking a cab there and back.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?
I would wear some funky printed leggings, a solid colored dress, and cropped jacket to complete the look.
How often would you wear them?
Once in a blue moon.
Would you buy them?
Do I love the look? Unfortunately not, so am going to have to pass.

How do you feel?
They fit really well but I'm not used to wearing such tall boots, so I felt a little uncomfortable.
How is the fit?
I have really short legs and, in my opinion, the boots make them feel shorter. I definitely didn't feel self conscious, though.
How is the material?
The material and construction was surprisingly above par. These are right up there with the higher quality purchases I've made.
Where would you wear them?
On a crisp afternoon out shopping or errands.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?I think jeans, jeggings or leggings are a must with these shoes. I'd pair them with a cute top, perhaps an over sized sweater or cardigan, and some giant sunglasses.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
My husband actually trekked to Payless with me on this one, and he found my struggles to get the boots on quite amusing! I had to go up a size and I still struggled a bit. Maybe it's because I'm used to sliding on flats?
How often would you wear them?
Every once in a while. They're slightly high maintenance for my taste.
Would you buy them?
If they went on sale even further (now at $39), I would definitely consider it.

How do you feel? Uncomfortable and disappointed. These boots won't fit my calves, which is an issue in itself. But one of the boots literally won't zip down, and sadly at this Payless they don't have another pair I can try on.
How is the fit?
Definitely self conscious right now. But if these bad boys fit and zipped as they should, I might have walked out of the store with them! They are super cute.
How is the material?
They're made of a thin suede and the soles don't feel especially durable. I have to think about stuff like that, living in Chicago and facing winter soon.
Where would you wear them?
If they fit? Out for cocktails or on a sexy date night.
What types of outfits would you wear them with?
The boots are begging for jeggings or for a cute swingy dress.
Are the boots easy to get on and off and seem comfortable to walk in?
Easy to get off, impossible to get on. I also have concerns about the zip - even if they fit me, that'd be a potential issue. Still, I wish they made these in a wide calf version - I know so many plus size fashionistas looking for affordable OTK boots!
How often would you wear them?
I think I could wear these a lot during the fall/winter.
Would you buy them?
No, sad to say.
Given that women come in different shapes and sizes, it can be hard to find the perfect pair of boots for our legshape. And now that it's fall, the time to select that all important footwear that is both fancy and functional is upon us.
Over the knee boots have gained momentum, but while outré styles are perfect for the runway, how do they translate for real women with shorter or wider legs?
For our this week's testing the garment segment, we decided to send our merry band of fashion reviewers to Payless to find out if the Madge Flat Over the Knee Boots are universally alluring or better sitting pretty on the shelf.
As per the custom, the savvy shoppers (some of whom are bloggers, while others are not) headed to their local shopping mall to try on these reasonably priced ($59.99) kickers. The overall consensus? Whether pulled over opaque tights or worn with skinny jeans these saucy shoes proved to be a bit of a challenge for our reviewers.
But don't take our word for it. Find out what these women, who are of varying style and body types, had to say about size, fit, and fabrication as it pertains to these super boots.
