Ever thought of choosing your hairstyles by face shape? The right haircut and hairstyle can draw attention to your best facial features, and shift attention from anything you want to disguise. Celebrity hairstylist Andy Lecompte says we can't get too caught up in searching for the right hairstyle for our face shape. Instead, he believes the most important thing is the way the hair is cut around our face.

Take for instance our latest makeover client Ami Haruna who comes to Andy with a hairstyle that is not suited to her heart-shaped face. She can wear her locks long or short, but she needs a softer fringe around the forehead and cheeks to accentuate her facial features.



After adding long bangs and layers throughout, Lecompte uses a flat iron to create soft, beachy waves to Ami's hair. When he's finished, you can see what a difference the correct cut around someone's face can make.
