"Glee" aired its "Rocky Horror" tribute episode last night after much buzz. And in typical "Horror" fashion, the styles were over the top and wildly outrageous.
For "Horror" virgins, think lots of sequins from Brittany and Tina (Heather Morris, Jenna Ushkowitz), a dash of gold lamé on Sam (Chord Overstreet), and Finn (Cory Monteith) sporting dorky specs.
The show's musical producer told our friends over at PopEater yesterday, "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" was meant as "an ode to the original" rather than a remake. "We freshen it up a little bit," Adam Anders said.
Our favorite look has to be Miss Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley), who stepped up to the plate to play the character of Dr. Frank-N-Furter: a "sweet transvestite" wearing a sexy corset, fishnet sleeves, and leather boots. Shimmering denim-blue eye shadow and deep, red lipstick rounded out her crazy ensemble.
The episode included memorable renditions of "The Time Warp," "Over at the Frankenstein Place," "Sweet Transvestite," and "Dammit Janet."
"Glee" has established a following thanks to their homage episodes. Last season, we saw McKinley High's tribute to Madonna and more recently, the glee club tackled Britney Spears -- hitting all the right musical and style notes.
