Not only did the Paris-based electro-pop/rap star release her latest album, "Sex Dreams and Denim Dreams," in June, but Diesel has enlisted to be her personal jean genie. "When my album was finished, and we were getting ready to release it, I met with a few brands," Uffie told StyleList of her move into the fashion business.
The 22-year-old singer has hooked up with the Italian denim brand to create a limited edition 12-piece collection labeled Diesel + Uffie. Hitting Diesel stores worldwide this week, the collection melds together Diesel's classic fits with Uffie's sexy style. "It's for strong, free-spirited women," said Uffie.
The collection includes a couple of denim styles - the Hi-Vy, skinny high-waisted jeans and Debbie, the relaxed, boyfriend style. Details include satin trim at the ankle and customized hardware. There are four tops in the line, easy to match with the jeans and a leather biker jacket and handbag. There's also a denim corset dress and denim and leather jumpsuit with a super slim fit.
"My dad works in fashion, so I grew up spending a lot of time in the offices, seeing how the industry works," Uffie explained of her interest in design. Though she chooses to remain mum on her pa's profession, she added "fashion has always been a big love of mine, so it's been really amazing getting to channel that into a collection."
The Diesel + Uffie line retails for $70 to $700.
