It was an offer he, er, could refuse.

Robert Pattinson has rejected a £1 million (approximately $1.6 mil) offer to model for Burberry, according to a report from the Mirror.

Creative director Christopher Bailey is said to have pursued the "best-dressed Brit" in hopes of adding him to the label's stable of British spokesmodels, including Emma Watson.

"Christopher and the Burberry team were desperate to sign Robert as the main person in their new campaign," an insider tells the paper.

"It would grace all their stores worldwide and be in all the best publications. They went to Robert but he immediately, politely, turned them down.

"As far as Robert sees things he's an actor by trade and that's his art. He doesn't want to start becoming a brand or anything."

Um, has he not heard about the R-Pant?

Though we respect the "Twilight" hunk's focus on acting, the cool Rule Brittania aesthetic of Burberry might have been a perfect fit... or at least given us some foxy billboards!
