The velour low-slung track suit may forever be Juicy Couture's emblem of chic, but a sneak peek at the brand's fluttery new fragrance ad campaign has us lusting for a whiff of the California boho-gone-luxe way of life.
Peace, Love & Juicy Couture is the latest fragrance to launch from the cashmere and rhinestone-loving brand. The fruity floral scent features notes of lemon tree blossom, sweet apple accord, magnolia and jasmine with a dry-down of musk, sheer patchouli and orris extract.
In the ad spot that stars a red-streaked Daria Strokous, the Russian model throws roses, glitter and disco balls from her ship's helm into the ocean with carefree abandonment -- and even a sexy cabin mate suffers the same tossed fate. It's fun, frivolous and oh-so Juicy, complete with flashy jewelry stacked high on wrist and neck, and an embracement of all things pink and frilly.
The commercial will debut nationwide on November 21, but you can watch it here first (plus, behind-the-scenes footage below).
When we previewed the perfume earlier this summer at the New York City launch event, execs explained that the idea for the scent stemmed from the sunny birthplace of Juicy Couture. "It's inspired by the bohemian sensibilities of Malibu, with a native American touch," said Marcy Fisher, vice president of fragrance marketing for the brand.
The eau de parfum sprays vary in cost from $52 to $87 depending on size, and a roller ball is also available for a comparative steal at $18. Body creams and shower gel round out the fragrance collection, which for the time being is limited edition -- unless demand from Juicy fans causes the brand to make it part of its permanent line.
