It's Rihanna vs. Lady Gaga: Who can debut the boldest hairstyle these days?

Rihanna was spotted in New York City today rocking her signature cherry red strands with dark sunglasses, a black wool and leather aviator jacket, and her infamous "F*ck You" necklace.

But now RiRi's locks are sleek, straight and half-way down her back.

Just last week we reported on the pop star's new sideswept fishtail braid, and before that, her "Snookie" pouf.

What's next for this 22-year-old fashion rebel? A red hair hat or red hair dress perhaps?

We don't know, but one thing's for sure -- her style certainly matches her new album, "Loud."

Click here for a roundup of the craziest celebrity redheads.

Like the look of a sleek blowout? Click through the gallery below for professional tricks and tips on how to nail smooth strands -- no matter what your hair type is.

Hair Basics: Blowout How-To

If you're looking to boost your blow-drying skills, you've come to the right place. Stylist Danielle Caputo shares the professional tricks and tips for a sleek, smooth blowout -- no matter what your hair type is.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Detangler
Start with a leave-in detangling spritz to nourish damp hair and scalp.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Volumizer
Use a volumizing spray at your roots to add height and control to the hair.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Grooming Cream
"You want your hair, and especially the ends, to look very polished so I like to use a little bit of grooming cream through the ends," says Danielle.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Pre-Dry Hair

You'll cut down on a lot on drying time by blow-drying your hair with your hands until it's about 90 dry.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Section Hair

Separate hair into three sections, from the top, the middle and the nape. Leave the nape section loose because this is where you'll begin blow-drying.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Pick the Right Brush

"Use a paddle brush for a sleek look and a round brush for more volume and bend," suggests Danielle.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Direct the Nozzle Down

Always point the nozzle attachment on your dryer facing down the hair shaft. This helps to flatten the cuticle for the sleekest results.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Follow Through

It's good to get the roots completely dry first and then move on to the ends. Remember to brush and dry all the way through the ends so that they end up polished and smooth--not neglected.

Peter Buckingham for AOL

Add Some Lift

"On the middle section of hair, you want to achieve some volume. I do that by placing the brush right under the section of hair, and then bringing the brush up" says Danielle. Direct the dryer flow against the hair as you lift to lock in volume, then smooth through the rest of the strand as usual.

How can any internet camera see into that tiny neckless?
I don't even think it says um... that at all. So, Rihanna
changed her hairstyle, but it's still red.

When I saw the headline on the aol homepage, my first reaction was, "Rihanna changes her hair every five minutes. So why is this a headline?" Then I saw the pic. Absolutely atrocious. Is her taste that gawd-awful, or is she just trying to be the new Madonna and go for shock value?

Would someone please tell me what is with her with the red hair? She has really changed since she came out, she is not the same sweet woman she use to be. I think being famous went to her head. She looks as if she thinks she is all that. Think again, I liked the old Rihanna

all the money this shwub has made has gone to her head. She thinks she is really cool and all that. Maybe someone should tell her she is only a run of the mill shwub.

She fricking changes her hair like every other day, and they call this news? I do like her duet with Eminium, and she does have a very good voice, she's young and trying to find her self, just like Gaga only not so extreme.

You mean she came out, as in girl on girl love? I never even knew, to tell you the truth. But I like it, you know that we all like it- even if it's not true. I don't keep up with gossip but I happened to land on this page. It's raining and pouring in Nassau Cnty- so I'm playing with my PC and just waiting for my Garlic Bread Parmeson (xtra strong) that I got especially for the storm -to heat up already -It's taking it's time. Can't wait it smells great. Girl on Girl? YUMMM YUMMM forgetaboutit. The internet has polluted me! For all I know, you only meant that Rihanna "came out" of the shower, and not the closet/
