It's a nice day for a... royal wedding.
After one breakup and endless speculation, Prince William and longtime love Kate Middleton have gotten engaged, Aisle Dash reports.
Clarence House confirmed that the son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana popped the question to his girlfriend of eight years while vacationing last month in Kenya, according to the site.
"Both the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are absolutely delighted for them both," a Buckingham Palace spokesman said.
"This is incredibly exciting news and I am sure the whole country will want to pass on their congratulations," added British Prime Minister David Cameron.
The 28-year-olds will reportedly wed in spring or summer 2011 and will live in North Wales following the nuptials.
Now that we've gotten those details out of the way, let's get down to the nitty-gritty: ring and dress!
While the stylish brunette is expected to flash her engagement ring later today, fashion experts predict that her wedding band will be made of Welsh gold, thanks to a tradition set by the Queen Mother, the Daily Mail reports.
And while "American princess" Chelsea Clinton opted for Vera Wang on her big day, wedding planner Mark Niemierko tells Aisle Dash that Middleton will likely go for a wedding gown from a British designer.
"[She] would be a bit experimental and just go for something quite fashion-forward with an element of tradition," he said.
"I don't think it would be the big massive long train like Diana. I think that it had its time and place."
