The beauty giant's Spring 2011 color collection -- Wild Violet -- will debut at counters this January, and feature electric shades of cherry, fuchsia plum, and orange on the lips, that are balanced by praline neutrals and smoky lilac on lids and neatly lacquered charcoal on fingertips.
Designed by Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux, the collection rides the spring runway trend of lips that burst with nearly neon-like color.
Clearly, this isn't a look for the shy, shrinking violet.
The limited-edition Wild Elixir fragrance will also launch in tandem with the makeup collection, bringing with it the citrus notes of mandarin mixed with florals like marigold, freesia and violet. A woody base of amberwood, musk and orris make for a sensual drydown.
And not to be overshadowed by the drama of bold lips, lashes will also take center stage with the new Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara that boasts a blend of three different kind of lash building fibers for an extension effect.
A hollow tube fiber is empty in the middle so as not to weigh lashes down out of a curl, while a solid rod fiber is cut dense and short to fill spaces in between lashes with lush texture. Finally, a micro-locking fiber designed in the shape of a "Y" allows lashes to feather out to fake a thicker look.
Now that's the kind of technology we can get behind -- especially since new study results on the long term effects of botox have some scientists concerned.
