Her alter-ego Blair Waldorf may be perpetually attached and in need of attention, but in real life Leighton Meester, who is making a big leap to the big screen in the upcoming flick "Country Strong", is single and loving it.

"I don't see the point in dating. I hate it," she admits to Allure magazine in their January issue. "It's wonderful to be in love. And it's definitely wonderful to cuddle and have sex and get to experience life with somebody. But it's okay if you don't find him and you're 24. You can find it someday."

If Meester sounds wise beyond her age, it's because she got all that Hollywood partying out of her system before she hit it big. Back when she lived in Los Angeles in her late teens, she lived with a group of wild children.

"We had craaaazy parties," she tells the mag. "We had DJs, bands, an ice luge, a fire twirler. One of my roommates burned off her bangs on the stove trying to light a cigarette."

That's all in the past though.

"Now I don't want to do anything that's unhealthy for me. I mean drinking is one thing, over-drinking is another. another. And drugs are something I don't tolerate at all. You'd be surprised how many people do it. If you go out and you're living the nightlife scene, that's what people do."

These days Meester is much more low-key, doing yoga "four or five times a week", hanging out with close friends that she has known most of her life. That is when she isn't palling around with her "Country Strong" co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.

"Gwyneth's just chilled-out, well-balanced. She's not uppity in any way," Meester says of Paltrow. As for McGraw -- he's a bit of a goof ball. "He's a prankster, a flirt. He'll make up a little song about you. He's got a devious twinkle in his eye."

Meester says she got along really well with her two older co-stars. She also cleared up rumors that she doesn't get along with another of her onscreen partners, "Gossip Girl" co-star, Blake Lively.

"It's unfortunate when women are pitted against each other," Meester says. "Like with 'Sex and the City'. People say they're jealous of each other. Come on! They're all rich, successful, great actresses."
