So when StyleList had the opportunity to meet Dr. Alkaitis at New York's Tribeca Beauty Spa, we seized the oportunity to inquire about his skincare philosophy. His response? "I want you to feed your skin with beneficial plant extracts and not with chemicals and toxins," and he is confident that your skin will find its balance under these conditions.
Dr. Alkaitis Holistic Organic Skin Food stands out from other skincare lines because it doesn't differentiate between skin types or skin issues such as acne, dryness, and oiliness. Alkaitis contends that his cleanser, toner, nourishing oil and masks will naturally heal whatever ails your skin.
The products are made with organic (food grade) and biodynamic ingredients, contain 100 percent active ingredients, and are free of dilutants like water. Why pay for a jar of water when you can get moisturizing aloe instead? We have to admit Dr. Alkaitis has a point.
We left the editor event with a tidy travel pack of his products to test and we're into the cleanser, toner and nourishing treatment oil. The masks are a bit high-maintenance for us, as he suggested we mix them with honey and goat milk yogurt, and we rarely have both in the kitchen. But, there's a first for everything.
