Who really gives a rats ass how much the ring is worth. Don't we as a country have much more important things to worry about other than how the rich are spending their money????

It's shameful that these people can worry about raising money for people in other countries, but forget about all the misery here in the United States... Its time we started putting on some benefits for the homeless and those who need our help here at home...

Excuse me but isn't the ring a reflection of the wealth of her fiance? I do not think that all of the political comments are appropriate. The young couple are engaged. They are happy and they are not in anyone's faces. How hard did the photographer have to work to get a picture of the ring. No one is flaunting their wealth or their lives. I think what is so pathetic in this story is the AUDACITY to flaunt an approximately 80 to 100K ring AND DO IT WHILE ATTENDING A FUNCTION FOR HAITIAN CHILDREN PLIGHT. Yes. Oh, please, people. How much her fiance chose to spend on her engagement ring is *really* an issue to you? You live your life, let them live theirs.

That said, I do have to correct whomever they quoted in the article... that is not a 3-4 carat stone. Based on the setting, and the amount of finger coverage, if she's got a normal woman's size 6-7 finger... that's 1.5 carats. 2 at most. That's still a very hefty stone, but I find it ridiculous when they try to say "OMG 5 carat diamond" left and right.
