"Black Swan" and "The King's Speech" tied for top honors when nominations for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were announced this morning. Looks like Natalie Portman is going to need a lot of red-carpet frocks this season!
Joining her as nominees for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Lead Role are Annette Bening ("The Kids Are All Right"), Nicole Kidman ("Rabbit Hole"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Winter's Bone") and Hilary Swank ("Conviction").
For supporting roles, the female nominees are Amy Adams ("The Fighter"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The King's Speech"), Mila Kunis ("Black Swan"), Melissa Leo ("The Fighter") and Hailee Steinfeld ("True Grit").
Among the men, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Lead Role nods went to Jeff Bridges ("True Grit"), Robert Duvall ("Get Low"), Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network"), Colin Firth ("The King's Speech") and James Franco ("127 Hours").
For male supporting roles, nominations went to Christian Bale ("The Fighter"), John Hawkes ("Winter's Bone"), Jeremy Renner ("The Town"), Mark Ruffalo ("The Kids Are All Right") and Geoffrey Rush ("The King's Speech").
Women recognized in the category for Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries are
Claire Danes ("Temple Grandin"), Catherine O'Hara ("Temple Grandin"), Julia Ormond ("Temple Grandin"), Winona Ryder ("When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story") and Susan Sarandon ("You Don't Know Jack").
Happy-face gals (aka Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series) are Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie"), Tina Fey ("30 Rock"), Jane Lynch ("Glee"), Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family") and Betty White ("Hot in Cleveland").
Sad-face gals (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series) are Glenn Close ("Damages"), Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: SVU"), Julianna Margulies ("The Good Wife"), Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men") and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer").
