Usher has us singing "Oh My Gosh" as he gyrates into high gear.

The 32-year-old singer-actor recently unveiled a new men's cologne, Usher VIP, picked up 2010 American Music Awards for Favorite Male Soul/R&B artist and Favorite Soul/R&B album for his album, "Raymond v. Raymond," and has helped launched the career of teen heartthrob Justin Bieber under his US Records label -- acheivements that bolster his 15-plus years career.

StyleList caught up with Usher before he delivered the goods to adoring fans who packed into New York City's Madison Square Garden on Monday night as part of his "OMG" tour.

StyleList: What type of man does Usher VIP embody? And how involved were you in the fragrance development process?
Usher: Usher VIP is classic fragrance and made to be worn by a confident individual. I like to consider fragrance as a tool of engagement for seduction -- it's a perfect gift for a woman to give her man.

Creating a fragrance is an incredibly exciting experience that's similar to recording a new album. I take inspiration from all of my influences and create something I know my fans will love.

SL: Where do you like to spray on your fragrance and why?
Usher: Fragrance is the one thing that stays on when everything else comes off...you should wear it anywhere you want someone to be close.

SL: Do you have any grooming secrets you'd like to pass down to your sons?
Usher: I'll let them know that women don't like a "musty" man, and men don't like "musty" women -- when they're old enough of course! For now they still think most things are yucky, so I just try to encourage their creativity and help them to stay unique.

SL: We love your fauxhawk! What motivated you to switch it up from the close-cut to something more rugged?
Usher: I'm a consumer of culture and love mixing styles and inspirations, both in my music and my style. I'm working on a new genre of music -- Revolutionary Pop -- which combines several music genres to create a new sound experience.

I love that people are talking about the new hair, it represents who I am now and the creative movement of Revolutionary Pop.

SL: Tell us about your new social media program.
Usher: This holiday season, I'm kicking off my "BE A VIP" contest on Facebook. My fragrance, Usher VIP, started me thinking about the VIPs that have inspired me and made a difference in my life and I wanted to hear from my fans about who inspires them.

I want to hear about the people who have made a difference in your life. Log on to my Facebook page and tell me about the VIP role models in your life for a chance to win a VIP trip -- Usher style -- to New York City.

SL: What do you want for Christmas? And do you have any New Year's resolutions?
Usher:
For Christmas, I want to help to make the world a better place. Too many of us suffer from a lack of understanding of each other and I want to do my part to bring us together through music.

I've learned a lot this year. For my New Year's resolutions, I want to do more as a citizen and also be sure that I make time for myself.
