Who says the annual geek fest known as the Consumer Electronics Show isn't also fashion-friendly? At the giant Las Vegas confab last week, we spotted plenty of sleek and sexy accessories that we now anticipate as hotly as spring's new neutrals.
Jewel Buds: Think of them as bedazzled ear buds. Jewel Buds' creators saw a blank canvas on the white wires that dangle from so many of our ears and decided to make the functional more fashionable. They covered the cords with Jablonex crystal beads from the Czech Republic to create a necklace-like look. Why didn't we think of that? Cool designs also include hip brown beads, silver balls and ear buds based on college colors. Jewel Buds sell for $29.95.
SwitchEasy Ticker: It's a totally new way to wear your Nano. Slip your iPod Nano 6G into this brightly colored watch-like band to rock your workout, your commute and your wardrobe. The Ticker is made of a smooth but sassy stretchy material with a stainless-steel pin to help keep it securely fastened to your wrist. The earphone jack at the bottom of the "face" means you can wear the band on either arm and the cord won't tangle. They're just $24.99.
Toddy Smart Cloth: Clean your screen and color your world. That's the promise behind the Toddy Smart Cloth. We fell in love with the hip colors and designs. But its real purpose is getting rid of those annoying smudges and smears on your tablet, smart phone or laptop screen. Made of 100 percent microfiber, this supersoft cloth is protected with a special chemical shield, which promises to wipe away dirt and germs without sprays or wipes. The Toddy is machine washable and works for eyeglasses, too. A single, 5-by-7-inch cloth retails for $14.95 or snatch up a triple pack for $29.95.
iSkin's Q.West Collection: Our favorite from this über-cool collection of laptop bags and other techno totes is the Summit 13. Made of shiny yet oh-so-soft quilted high-gloss Italian nylon, this super-sexy bag comes with a detachable messenger strap and in a variety of colors, like purple, turquoise and basic black and white. There's even a version for your iPad or 15-inch laptop.
