The 25-year-old former "Bond" girl was nominated last week in the "Rising Star" category of the British BAFTA awards and was just revealed as the new face of G-Star Raw.
She replaces actress Liv Tyler and will rep the G-Star brand in its new, "RAW" spring ad campaign it was announced on Jan. 13. That's a good week.
Arteron, who is currently filming "Men in Black 3," was photographed for the edgy, Dutch sportswear label by iconic photographer/filmmaker Anton Corbin in Marseilles, France.
On this side of the pond, G Star has outposts in major cities such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
British Arterton comes off as glamorous chameleon in a black-and-whte pictorial based on the theme "RAW elegance." She channels some tom-glam energy standing tall in a strapless button-up shirt, rolled up jeans and towering peep-toe heels. In an alternate look, she plays the slightly edgy girl-next-door in a fitted jacket and jeans with her raven hair down and pushed back in an elegant hairband, her lips darkened.
G-Star Raw based the campaign on its design philosophy of combining contradictory fashion elements; denim and silk, chic and raw, street and luxury.
Arterton, a stunning beauty with working class roots, says the philosophy suits her personal aesthetic.
"Just like G Star I have deep roots in the creative world and have always been super passionate about music, art, theater and film and it is great to be involved in a concept that mixes all these different, exciting forms of art," Arterton tells StyleList.
As for the collection: "My favorite items are probably the waist coats with studs on them as well as the dresses and the jumpsuits, which are amazing."
Arterton introduced herself to G-Star Raw fans in a blog on its Web site, writing she will return with more musings over the next several weeks.
