Red-carpet favorite Anne Hathaway has nabbed the role of Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the next Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises."

Fans of the DC Comics characters know that the superhero and feline supervillain have a relationship as flirtatious as it is antagonistic.

But we have to ask: What kind of Catwoman will she be? The slinky Michelle Pfeiffer kind or the butt-kicking Halle Berry version?

This reboot of the Batman franchise is much darker than the more flippant, but hugely successful, series of Batman adaptations that were popular in the '80s and '90s. And it's a world away from the outright comedy of the '60s TV series, where fans got to pick their favorite from three delicious versions, played by Eartha Kitt, Lee Merriwether and Julie Newmar.

Still, we're confident Hathaway will get to have some fun as she's sticking her claws into Gotham City's most famous flying rodent.

"The Dark Knight Rises" is scheduled for release sometime in 2012.
