And though she's a woman who needs no introduction, just in case you've been stuck in your wardrobe for the past few years figuring out what to wear, let us fill you in. To kick off 2011 in style -- a new year means new looks! -- what better way is there to enhance your closet than with some fashion-forward footwear? A wise investment at any time, picking up a pair or two of pristine shoes will instantly update your look without breaking the bank on a whole new wardrobe.

Right now, I have my eye on an ever-growing list of styles, obv, but have narrowed my choices down to five standout, versatile pairs for you to rock in the upcoming season.

Starting with smart lace-up Valin wedges (3) by Sam Edelman: These black booties are the ultimate option to wear from the office to out on the town.

Another killer day-to-night pair is Steven by Steve Madden's Mercyy platform pumps (4). (Note that all nude, pale and white shades are very coveted right now -- and perfect for spring and summer! Find a pair that you love ASAP.)

In terms of surface-level shoes, I am all about Banana Republic's Amalia flats (1) -- the leopard print will immediately and comfortably make any outfit more interesting -- and Topshop's Daryl Grey suede boots(5).
