'Jerseylicious' Glam Fairy Alexa Prisco Gets Her Own Makeover Special

From the minute StyleList first spied smoky-eyed "Jerseylicious" star Alexa Prisco, aka Glam Fairy, we knew there was more to the opinionated makeup artist than her heavily bronzed face.

"I want to be known for my artistry," declares Prisco, breakout star of the Style network hit. "And I don't want to be defined by one look... even though I love that trashy glam look."

On Jan. 30, Prisco will shake the Jersey off her powder brushes long enough to front an hour-long makeover special right after the "Jerseylicious" Season 2 finale.

Prisco's first cosmetic intervention required desperate measures: a group of New York state sorority sisters from the frumpy side of campus.

After a season of feuding with Gatsby Salon owner Gayle Giacamo, we'd hardly be surprised if the Glam Fairy spreads her bedazzled wings and gets a spin-off series.

Prisco dialed up StyleList to talk about her glamorous future and spring beauty trends.

The sisters of Chi need a makeover: "They were such sweet girls, who have spent a lot of time studying," Prisco says of her sorority makeovers. "I did a lot of smoky eyes, of course, but I'm not from the same village as most people and I kind of had to get them to see my way of thinking. But they came around. You do a smoky eye on someone and you immediately take off five pounds because that's where your eyes go. In the end, they looked amazing."

Prisco wasn't always a glamazon: "I really related to these girls because I've been there. In college, the most fashionable thing I owned was a pair of (7 for All Mankind) jeans, which I kept hidden in a drawer for special occasions. I had burgundy highlights and wore glasses. I needed me to come give me a makeover. But you know, I was studying all the time. I graduated with honors with a degree in English. I was that bookworm who didn't make time for herself, except I had my makeup bag and when I needed a study break, I would take it out to play."

But she really is Glam Fairy: Prisco specializes in bridal looks and photo shoots and regularly works in the tristate, New York City area with a team of handpicked artists. "It sounds glamorous, but it's brides and it isn't easy," says Prisco, recounting a recent spat with a demanding bridesmaid.

There's such thing as too much Jersey: Despite her heavy hand and love of cleavage-baring frocks, "I know my look isn't for everyone. Once I came down the stairs, and my mother said I looked like Beth, the wife of Dog the Bounty Hunter." Oh my.

Speed glam: To prove that even stressed-out working moms and sorority sisters can be glam, Prisco walked us through her "super quick" look. First, prime your skin with Inglot Illuminating Foundation. "It makes everyone's skin look great." Use a Stila pencil (she likes black or dark green) to rim the eye and its sponge tip to smudge. Sweep on some L'Oréal Double-Extend Mascara. Brush on some NYC Mosaic bronzer for instant warmth and fill in your brows with a MAC Lingering pencil. Treat yourself to a YSL lip gloss or lipstick in a peachy-pink shade for "an instant J.Lo glow." Check out Prisco's YouTube tutorials for more advice.

Glam Fairy's spring beauty must-haves: Smashbox's new cheek stains and its ultra-wearable O gloss. "It looks good on everyone," she says.

Going solo: Prisco's not sure if she'll get her own show someday, "but I sure have my fingers crossed." As for her first solo special, "I want people to realize that they are not getting the 'Jerseylicious' Alexa, but they are getting all of me. I have a softer side and I want my artistry to show through."

Want more "Jerseylicious?" Read our chat with the Gatsby Salon's belligerent resident hair stylist Tracy DiMarco.

"Glam Fairy" airs on the Style network Jan. 30 at 10 p.m. ET. The "Jerseylicious" finale airs at 8 p.m. ET, also on Style.

Why is she doing a makeover show...for a joke? This woman couldn't do nice looking makeup to save her life! And her "smokey eye"....yeah right! I don't even think she know's what a real smokey eye look is!

I watch the show and this chick is a joke. She can't even do her own make up. Why would you give her a show! She already has a huge ego for no reason! I am not hating on her, I just don't understand why this is talent! Olivia is WAY more talented than Alexa.

Alexa isn't a joke. She is, however, extremely rude and disrespectful. She also has an overinflated sense of her own worth and talent. I am astonished by the way she treats Gayle Giacamo, to the point where I can't stand to even look at Alexa anymore. Gayle can have my business anytime. Alexa...I wouldn't let that snotty little brat put makeup on me for all the tea in China. Note to Alexa: Grow up and apologize to Gayle, before the karma bites you right where you deserve it.

Ok..now there are too many words to explain what I want to say because Alexa comes up with her own termenology of explaining things. So I guess I will be blunt. I cannot believe she was able to get a show! She belitters her personnel but most of off she talks to her clients like they don't know what they want. She tries TOO Hard to be creative...I can give her props that she can be creative but don't try the smokey eyes so much when you would belittle Olivia on her smokey eye ( which I think looks better...she blends in with her madeover tan)..even Tracey. Alexa is too pale to do a smokey eye...she paints on blush to show her cheek bones but makes her look like a 5 year old that is trying to put on MOMMY's makeup...I give her props for her accomplishments but she needs to lighten up...ALEXA NEEDS TO REALLY LISTEN TO HER CLIENTS MORE. (Take a breath or two before your creativeness kicks in...a breath or two before opening your mind CAN MAKE A BETTER DIFFERENCE)...Instead off PUSHing TOO HARD TO DO HER STYLE AND NOT WHAT THE CLIENTS WANT.

Could someone please give me back the hour of my life I just wasted this STUPID Glam Fairy show!Omg, If this show turns into a series the end of the world must be near..I mean this show was just about as bad as could be..Alexa can not carry a show,At least on Jerseylicious they are mostly likeable and watchable. This was just a horror show..

I love Jerseylicious and I especially love me some Olivia but Alexa is a different story. Sometimes I like her and sometimes I hate her. She can be a very strong person and at the same time, not be so nice. I've been watching this show since the beginning and although I love it, I wish they were all a little nicer to each other. I work and subscribe to DISH Network and since DISH carries the Style channel in HD, I get to see just how bronzed everyone is. I haven't seen Alexa's show but I am DVR'ing it so hopefully I can catch the rerun!

It wa great seeing Alexa LOSE the fashion week thing after she acted soooo confident toward winning in front of Gayle. She thought she was best - SHE SUCKS (Alexa that is), her confidence is a joke, like those ashol** on American Idol (Idiot) that think they can sing, that;s like Alexa...

This woman has no talent, just a mouth, which is not very bright, just catty. She deserved to lose the trophy to Gatsby and I would never, ever let her do my make up. She makes everyone look alike and slutty, just like her look.

I like her and her "feel" overall, however I feel she's in over her head a little with some of that "staff?" I am a make-up artist and on imdb (credentials). I have to research further, but NEPOTISM/CONNECTIONS/$ may factor into such "popularity?" I do like her website overall. The airbrush make-up overkill recommendation is as if she is about to sell her own airbrush creation kit: THE GLAM FAIRY AIRBRUSH 2011 on QVC!

I LOVED this horrid horrid special. When she pulled the "bedazzled" body stocking idea out of her butt I almost lost it!

My (actual) makeup artist family and I were laughing hysterically and even forwarded the info to others. Even my husband was laughing like we were watching a slapstick comedy.

Seriously, is she honestly thinking that her makeup is TV and print ready? Her everyday makeovers are extremely sub-par already!

I would DVR this series everyday so we can have our laugh fix!

Wow, this Alexa chick is full of herself. Why does she have her own show, she is completely and utterly not worthy to be a pro. make-up artist, and for that matter, why so they let her and that other hoggy one work fashion week. these shows are getting sooo ridiculous. I know next time I have the runs I'll call the style network and they would probably give me my own show! Oh well its worth a shot, it worked for Alexa and Tracy....Must say though in Styles defense, I really do love Anthony,Gayle,Chrissie,Olivia and GiGi, aww I really do just love that Gigi!!!
