Tom Ford Interviews Julianne Moore for InStyle on Turning 50

Looking at Julianne Moore's flawless face and figure, it's hard to believe the actress turned 50 back in December. Still, Moore admits to the March issue of InStyle magazine that some things take on new urgency when you enter your sixth decade.

"One thing a 50th birthday does is say, All right, time is marching. You have these things you're happy with and proud of. But if there's something you haven't done that you've been waiting to do, then by all means, don't want any longer. Do it!" Moore tells friend and fashion designer Tom Ford in the mag.

Even though the "The Kids Are All Right" actress often comes across as terribly sexy on the screen, in real life she rarely feels like a siren, which is why she cherishes alone time with her hubby, the director and screenwriter Bart Freundlich.

"Doing the mommy stuff does sort of squash that area of your life. I can feel that way when I'm alone with Bart or when we take a trip," Moore says. "But the day-to-day of picking up kids and going to the eye doctor and then dropping them off at basketball and then going to the middle school concert, that stuff doesn't make you feel very sexy! That was my day yesterday."

Her mundane reality is something every woman can relate to.

"I have a terrible habit of staying in my yoga clothes all day," Moore admits.

Amen to that, sister!

Moore is wearing Tom Ford on the cover, and appears inside wearing Marc Jacobs, Dior, Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana and Louis Vuitton.

To read Ford's full interview with the actress and to see their gorgeous photo spread, head over to InStyle.com.

Many women who depend on their appearance when they are in their prime years are in for a rude awakening which occurs almost overnight once they reach their third decade of life.

In the past 16 years I had spent thousands of dollars on razors blades, shaving cream, and waxing. I reached a point where my leg hair was growing back way too fast, I knew I had to stop using razors sooner or later. When I first read about the NoNo Long Term Hair Remover ( HTtp://bit.ly/PainlessHairRemover ) , I immediately became interested in how it reduces hair from growing back. After 8 weeks of using NoNo my leg hair was almost all gone. It feels so good to not have to worry about shaving anymore...

It's very easy for a successful actress to give other people advice like "just do it!". But, in reality, just-doing-it means NOT being able to drive your son to basketball while your husband commutes home, NOT being home to makie sure your high school junior does her homework and NOT being there to make dinner and do laundry. Sure, "just do it" if you have HIRED HELP all the freakin' time like her!

Yes, and Sunday I saw you at the Planetarium at the Museum of Naural HIstory waiting to go into the Space Center-not all made up - just
looking comfortable - just being a Mom. It's great you live here
for your kids to see so much. My school use to take us to museums
all the time.

I guess that's why she always seems to be making out with other women in her latest movies, to feel sexy, that is. I used to really like her, but can't really relate to her now and I'm fifty-one.

GAWD, wasn't that movie nasty!? I saw it with my mom and ma-in-law, both in their eighties, and when Julianne Moore disappeared between Annette Benning's thighs, we left! The Kids WERE NOT ALRIGHT!!

As a man, I obviously couldn't possibly relate to how a 50 year old woman may feel, let alone any woman's feelings. I can speak for at least this one man, though. I find Julianne Moore to be an excellent actress (one of my personal favorites, in fact), and always a lady, even when going acting as more. I have seen her "sexy" and her in less than sexy roles. I have seen her in reality (actually dined near her in a local eatery), and when just out and about, she still seemed quite beautiful. What I believe personally is that it is her "inner" beauty that along with her natural beauty, that keeps her so well. At 50, this woman really is above the bar and not many can do that. So what if she likes being in her yoga outfit? Comfort is a pleasure that we all desire, and if that makes her comfortable, than so be it. For those of you women out there reading this, I am sure you will agree with that much! Ladies, as a man speaking to you all, just keep your inner beauty working with your outer beauty and you can all be a "10", like Ms.Moore...

This is the ugliest woman in movies today. Every role she chooses is slutty and whorish; she is disgusting and the photo of her on the magazine is definately air brushed. I cannot stand her and purposely avoid watching movies with her in them.....

Why is wearing comfortable clothes all day long such a terrible habit? We were told this because she needed to put the yoga exercises out front. Just so she remembers that even at 50, that rose bud we may have on our upper body turns into a long stemmed rose, no matter what exercises we do. Life is like that.

Ya know, I am 46 yrs. old and I have raised my son and my husbands daughter. I have never in my entire life really worried over my appearance, other than being over weight from time to time (and that is more of a health concern than anything else). Women tend to worry far too much over how they look or if they're sexy, etc. You know what, if others do not like what they see - tell them not to look. There is far too much in life to enjoy, so don't waste time on what you look like and how others may think you look. Live life to the fullest and enjoy it. And enjoy the things you have to do on a dailey basis with your children because they grow up and move away far too fast and then all those little things that annoy you now become things that you really miss. Cherish each moment.

I read this article to find out the "terrible habit" she had.
Staying in her yoga clothes all day? PLEASE!!! I was hoping for at least biting her finger nails or betting on the ponies.
